This activity gives you an opportunity to debate the topic: Boarders learn how to spend when boarding, not how to save.
There is a view that says boarders get an allowance and then spend that allowance. Boarders are never encouraged to save, so they do not think about saving. This creates a future problem for boarders, because they have only learnt how to spend, not save!
